Trust

The word that inspired this photo is the word “trust.” Trust is not always a good thing. Sometimes, we put trust into people that we shouldn’t, and people that don’t deserve our trust. I chose to display trust in a negative connotation to show people that they should not always rely heavily on others. Drinking and driving is not something to take lightly. Thousands of people die every year to alcohol impaired drivers. People will often put their trust into a person driving drunk to get them home safely. However, driving drunk not only puts you in danger, but the people around you. You could potentially kill the people in the car with you, or other people driving on the road.
The process behind creating this photo started with the time of day. This photo was taken in the evening because the evening is when people typically drink. The child behind the subject drinking is putting his trust into the main subject when she is driving while under the influence. The opening of the door by both the main subject and the younger subject show that they are both getting in the car. The beer is the main focus of the image to visually represent that alcohol is a factor while the subject is driving. Being under the influence is more psychological than physical, so the best way to show that the driver was intoxicated is having the subject holding a beer.
This photo is an important message for everyone when choosing who to get into the car with. There are other people to call when you need help, you do not need to get into a car with someone who will put you in danger.
